A Ha Ha Moment

Let laughter take you into a joyous weekend and keep smiling.

A man drove up to the pope's house one day in a long stretch limo. The pope walked out and was about to get into the car when he said to his driver, "You know, I've always wanted to drive one of these things.”

The driver got out and said, "Go ahead and drive it, your excellency."

The driver gets into the back seat. The pope gets in and drives away. A little while later, a cop pulls him over for speeding.

"What’s the problem officer," the pope asks.

"You were speeding," the cop says.

"Well then I will have get a ticket my son?," the pope says.

"Wait just a minute, your excellency, I'll be back,” says the cop confused.

The cop walked back to his car and radioed dispatch. "Hello? Sergeant, I need some help."

"What is it?,” the Sergeant says.

"I pulled someone over for speeding and I am not sure if I should give him a ticket,” the cop says puzzled.

"Why not?," the Sergeant asked. “If he was speeding, then he needs to have get ticket.”

"But this person is REALLY important," the cop continues.

"Is it the mayor?," the sergeant inquires.

"No!," the cop says.

"Is it the governor?," the sergeant asks.

"No, it isn't," the cop replies.

"Is it a senator? A representative? " the sergeant questions.

"No, more important than those people," the cop answers.

"Is it the president?," the sergeant asks.

"No, more important than him," the cop responds.

"For gods sake, who is it?," the sergeant says annoyed.

The cop explains, "I don’t know, but the pope is chauffeuring him!"

This joke never gets old :-) I heard it years ago, but in that version Brezhnev (Russian president in the 80s) was doing the driving :)

What a witty piece of humor. It invites us to question why we permit ourselves to get wrapped up in the perceived significance of appearances and external approval. In the end, its all bringing us to a deeper understanding of what we fear and the lengths we go to perpetuate our own illusions. The idea of recognizing this is the first step to getting over it. We're all well on the way.

Vasilisa,
I bet that version of it was funny. I can read a good joke over and over and never get bored. (I don't know about the people in which I tell them to though.)

Liara,
It's fun when something isn't what we expect. Great expectations always let us down in the end, but sometimes we have to let it all go and laugh.

Billy,
If the police caught him, what were THEY driving?
