Consistency

“The spiritual journey does not consist of arriving at a new destination where a person gains what he did not have, or becomes what he is not. It consists in the dissipation of one’s own ignorance concerning oneself and life, and the gradual growth of that understanding which begins the spiritual awakening. The finding of God is a coming to oneself.”

~Aldous Huxley

Some of my most humbling experiences emerge from 'going through the motions' and gaining life experience without taking short-cuts. For example, rather than having someone arrange where I will live, work or how to manage in countries before arriving, I develop great resourcefulness by working things out for myself. When it came to the publishing world, I chose to learn the process of submitting manuscipts according to publisher criteria rather than publish my book myself. As the teachings of Abraham mention (through Esther & Jerry Hicks), the experience of going white water rafting would be very different if you took a raft and set it in the water where you were supposed to finish your day trip. Taking the full-on journey enables each soul to gain priceless insight into the authentic self.

Great quote Alexys, we only need to remove the veil of our forgetfulness of the truth of who we are. Nothing to strive for. We are already whole, we just need to take ownership of our divinity. Like Deepak Chopra says,"...We are spiritual beings having a human experience..."
Cheers!

Liara,
I also find reward in hard work, digging in, getting my hands dirty and finding the little pieces of heaven that exists in everything. Thank you for sharing your story. A river never stops flowing and each day the flow is different.

Hi Miruh,
Taking ownership is a liberating process that we can't do without. Thanks for sharing a piece of your experience.

Hmm, does this mean that you must understand yourself to understand God?

Nathan,
It's another way of looking at it. Nothing is written in stone. :D
