Think Love

“If we understood the power
of our thoughts,

we would guard them more closely.

If we understood the awesome
power of our words,

we would prefer silence
to almost anything negative.

In our thoughts and words
we create
our own weaknesses
and our own strengths.

Our limitations and joys
begin in our hearts.

We can always replace
negative with positive.”

Dearest Alexys,

How true my friend! How very very true!

I am thinking of you
surrounded
by soft wild light,

content,
at peace,
spreading your wings
and finding your every
painted dream
suddenly realised.

My love to you,

M

to lean to the negative side is easier than taking on the struggle..it takes effort to look at things in a positive light all the time but it is one that gives rewards for the effort..

Maithri,
My wings are fluttering your way to bring you love and light. Look outside your window and I am there embracing you with butterfly dreams.

Love surrounds you my dear.

Robert,
I think positivity is easier than negativity. It feels better and gives better dividends.

So true! Thanks for sharing that.

What a beautiful, priceless series of sentiments. Love is a concept that means so many things to so many people. Expressing positive energy is uplifting and triggers a chain reaction of meaningful things.

I disagree with Bettie Eadie. I think that if we truly understood the power of out words and thoughts we would never prefer silence.

Just because words can do damage doesn't mean that we shouldn't speak, because then we could never use words to heal. Even if our words are accidentally negative the intent may be more important than the effect, and there is always "I'm Sorry" to bridge the gaps between.

I wrote a poem about this a while back:

Words

Solid words, building words,
Words that fill the mind,
Floating words, conversing words,
The entertainment kind.

Angry words, sarcastic words,
Words that tear apart,
Loving words, endearing words,
Words that fill the heart.

Empty words, useless words,
Words that no one hears,
Frightened words, desperate words,
Words expressing fears.

Endless words, so many words,
Words to pick with care,
Choose your words, use your words,
Words that we can share.

Hi Liara Covert,
So beautifully put. Thank you for such warm sentiments.

Hi Nathan,

I think what she is saying is to choose your words wisely or the old adage, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Instead of saying anything negative which can cause damage beyond our control, we should stop and listen to our thoughts first.

I know what you mean.
Words are powerful and once we release them into the ethers, positive words will bring positive things, but when negative words are inadvertently released, we can try to correct any damage.

Great poem. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Alexys,
This was a hard lesson for me to learn.

You see I am the burden carrier in our family.

Remember when Julia Roberts says to Sally Fields who plays her mother in 'Steel Magnolias'...."Mama we don't have to worry. You do enough worrying for the entire family/world."...Please excuse the paraphrase. I can't remember the exact quote.

But that use to be my life.

I have long since learned that it is a complete waste of time.

I try my best to always stay on the positive side now.

After all, what will be, will be. So to worry is wasted energy.

If my negative does sneak up on me I simply write and then swish it away.

Blessings my friend!:-)))

Shinade,
That's a wonderful story of turning a negative into a positive. It is challenging at times, but the human consciousness can do marvelous things.

Blessings my sweet friend.

Okay I see what you mean. We can't always know all the consequences of our thoughts and/or actions, but we would never specifically try to say something cruel.
