21st Century Email

My mother always forwards emails which I automatically delete like spam, but that still doesn’t stop her. In her infinite wisdom, (or her refusal to listen to my wishes) she thinks that I will see what I am supposed to see.
Well, lo and behold, this email didn’t catch the delete button, but instead was granted a stay of execution. Obviously in some kind of Harmonic Convergence way, my mother, being the wise email master that she is was right.
I just had to share it with you.

Orsen Wells' 1984 does not have to dictate the next century. Love and compassion can certainly become more prominent driving forces for anyone who chooses to raise their awareness and explore these options. Free will reigns. Your level of awareness and choices determine your experience. It has always been and will be.
I shall be changing countries.
Liara,
And one's experience can dictate one's level of awareness so why not have a life full of love and compassion?
Btw, do you mean George Orwell's 1984?
Uber,
Do you keep them in your nightstand?
Why not make a more uplifting list?
as much as I would like to see us recede a little the progress of the human race will continue on it's path..which leads to God knows where
Hey Alexys,
LOL LOL Your mom is so cute! I have an auntie who does the same thing...she keeps sending me these emails that I simply delete (I don't even open them)...*shrugging*. I think they are happy including us in their world, so let them...
Aaah, but this email is extremely interesting!!! And it has some valid points of view too.
Now let me check yours.....
"Our youth - Need empowering." - you are right there, sista!!
"Our religion - Misinterpreted." - another good point!
"Our faith - Can be found again." - from your lips to God's ears! I pray for this everyday...
"Our politics - Baleful." - yes, because the people in charge of politics are baleful. Politics per se are not evil.
"Our Follies - Are part of the package." - LOL LOL LOL so true! We just have to accept it!
"Our arguments - Should be worth it." - Amen!!
"Our life - Meaningful." - absolutely!!
I prefer your version, I confess! Much more constructive...
----------------
"How would you change the email?" - aaah, let me see how I could change this email:
Our communication - clouded by emotions.
Our business - in need of more regulation.
Our telephone - distractive.
Our cooking - back to home-made
Our youth - lacking culture
Our religion - antagonistic
Our food - full of chemicals
Our faith - ill
Our labor - under modern forms of slavery
Our conduct - in recovery
Our relation - being refurbished
Our attitude - bit by bit being renovated
Our feelings - getting better
Our politics - in need of serious cleansing
Our education - in dire straits
Our Follies - la joie-de-vivre
Our arguments - poor
Our commitment - to love and respect others
Our poor - deserve respect
Our life - must evolve even further
"How do you see change in the new year? How do you see yourself changing?" - This year change could start by initiating the cleaning up process (of the messed that was done in previous years). I see myself changing by seeking for growth and once I find it, let it in my soul.
Lady A, fantastic article! Simple, yet full of depth (for it makes us think...or should I say...re-think existence) *bowing*!
Life Changing Cheers
Broadway Matron,
I thought my answers were more uplifting than the original. Would you agree?
Robert,
Don't lose faith in the human race It can amaze us.
Hi Max,
You are right, our relatives need us in their fan base and their world.
Ooh, I really love your list. (This is the third time reading it - because I like it not because I didn't understand it.) It's so transcendental. It's hard for me to pick just one, I like them all. These are the ones that really jump out.
"Our youth - lacking culture - sad but true (do you think the onus is on the parents or individuals who don't want to embrace their culture?)
Our religion - antagonistic - very and not as loving as it could be.
Our food - full of chemicals - good one (and so obvious now that you point it out.)
Our faith - ill - unfortunately, but it can be nursed back to health.
Our labor - under modern forms of slavery - this is so deep and hard-hitting.
Our conduct - in recovery - beautifully put.
Our relation - being refurbished..." - love the imagery.
But again, they are ALL excellent. You have a very expansive and prolific mind.
"This year change could start by initiating the cleaning up process (of the messed that was done in previous years). I see myself changing by seeking for growth and once I find it, let it in my soul."
Aw, that is so nice. I don't think we necessarily have to seek growth in order to grow. We grow every second.
"Lady A, fantastic article! Simple, yet full of depth (for it makes us think...or should I say...re-think existence) *bowing*!"
Thank you darling.
Evolving Cheers!
I would try to change it to relate to the person I love the most....
Alexys,I did mean George Orwell. Its okay for a person to discern what they do not want because that permits them to become more certain of what they do. To develop the conscious intent to spread only love and compassion is a meaningful way to go.
Hi Annie,
That's a good start. Don't forget loving yourself in the process.
Liara,
I think so too. Onward and upwards to love.
Hi Lady A!
"You are right, our relatives need us in their fan base and their world."
*High Five*!! :D
"Ooh, I really love your list. (This is the third time reading it - because I like it not because I didn't understand it.) It's so transcendental. It's hard for me to pick just one, I like them all. These are the ones that really jump out."
LOL LOL you kill me *nodding*! I am glad you loved it, girl!
"[Our youth - lacking culture] sad but true (do you think the onus is on the parents or individuals who don't want to embrace their culture?)"
I think it is half-half. Some parents do not inject culture in their kids from the start, and then when they decide to do so...it's too late (no point in trying to tell a teenager that he needs something that he has never heard of while growing up). Then there are those cases where parents put their kids in touch with culture since early age and from some reason (usually because parents impose culture upon their offspring) the kids turn their backs at it. And let's not forget the "fantastic" teachers that do a lousy job in encouraging youngsters to seek for these things...
Plus, we live in an era of easy thinking (or lack of it, if you will) and culture demands thought and reasoning...
"[Our religion - antagonistic] very and not as loving as it could be."
Could and should be. Religion should teach people how to love one another (because since its job is to study the Divine, they should be more apt to understand God's love...but no, it uses the Divine to serve its own agenda).
"[Our food - full of chemicals] good one (and so obvious now that you point it out.)"
Half of the allergies going around stem from the food we eat (food charged with RDD% of chemicals).
"[Our faith - ill -] unfortunately, but it can be nursed back to health."
Yes, it can...with your help it can :)!
"[Our labor - under modern forms of slavery -] this is so deep and hard-hitting."
Girl, have you noticed these neo-slavery companies going around in the market? Those so-called outsourcing companies? It's a crime! They exploit people...it's shameful! I have so many stories about them *nodding*...
"[Our conduct - in recovery -] beautifully put."
Thank you!
"[Our relation - being refurbished..."]- love the imagery."
I am so glad that people are little by little opening their eyes...but still, there is a lot to be done!
"But again, they are ALL excellent. You have a very expansive and prolific mind."
Thank you so much, Lady A *bowing*! That is very kind of you...*nearly blushing*!
"Aw, that is so nice. I don't think we necessarily have to seek growth in order to grow. We grow every second."
You may be right...but you see there are people who, despite growing every second, run away from growth (without even realising that it is impossible to escape from it)...and I just wanted to stress the fact that I don't run away; I simply take life as it presents to me.
"Thank you darling."
You are most welcome, dear :D!
(R)Evolutionary Cheers
Hello Alexys,
I like this one,"Our Follies - Are part of the package." It helps us to accept the rest of the bundle;the good, the bad and the ugly. :D
Thanks for this thought provoking piece!
Our communication - guarded - needs to be open.
Our business - troubled
Our telephone - connecting people in an instant
Our cooking - Home made more as we have less money to eat out
Our youth - in need of mentoring
Our religion - need to accept each others religion
Our food - over processed
Our faith - in search of
Our labor - over paid for amount of work we do/underpaid for amount of work we do - management/workers
Our conduct - ego based
Our relation - unreasonable/unspoken expectations
Our attitude - confused
Our feelings - ego based
Our politics - hopeful
Our education - antiquated
Our Follies - Very Public (You tube)
Our arguments - based on being right no matter what
Our commitment - lost.
Our poor - wise and rich in what counts
Our life - Magical.
Max,
"High Five."

That makes sense - a lot of sense.
"And let's not forget the "fantastic" teachers that do a lousy job in encouraging youngsters to seek for these things..."
How can we forget those ""fantastic"" (double quotations) teachers?
"Plus, we live in an era of easy thinking (or lack of it, if you will) and culture demands thought and reasoning..."
Excellent. No arguments here. ;D
"Religion should teach people how to love one another (because since its job is to study the Divine, they should be more apt to understand God's love...but no, it uses the Divine to serve its own agenda)."
God knows. Amen sista! High God five. ^G5! (my symbol for High God Five.)
"Half of the allergies going around stem from the food we eat (food charged with RDD% of chemicals)."
Unless we grow our own, we don't have that much of a choice, unless we lobby to get things changed - and the other side lobbies harder to keep them the same.
[Faith]
"Yes, it can...with your help it can :)!"
With our help. Yes we can.
"Girl, have you noticed these neo-slavery companies going around in the market? Those so-called outsourcing companies? It's a crime! They exploit people...it's shameful! I have so many stories about them *nodding*..."
It is a shame. I saw a documentary where a girl from India was from a poor village and her mother had to sell her into slavery so they could eat - heartbreaking.
"I am so glad that people are little by little opening their eyes...but still, there is a lot to be done!"
I have faith that we WILL get there with great effort.
"You may be right...but you see there are people who, despite growing every second, run away from growth (without even realising that it is impossible to escape from it)...and I just wanted to stress the fact that I don't run away; I simply take life as it presents to me."
Yes, fear does that.
Viva la Max Cheers!
Miruh,
Yes, we all only want to embrace the good points and disregard the rest, but it is a package deal. Thanks for weighing in.
Mark,
Thanks for this thoroughly mind-tingling list. I hear you and I applaud your additions. I especially like,
"Our youth - in need of mentoring."
Yes, definitely.
"Our faith - in search of"
As long as we don't stop searching.
"Our labor - over paid for amount of work we do/underpaid for amount of work we do - management/workers"
Most definitely. Look at the entertainment industry or the golden parachute of a CEO.
"Our education - antiquated"
In need of an overhaul encompassing worldly and spiritual knowledge, not just memorizing facts from a book.
"Our poor - wise and rich in what counts"
Yes.
"Our life - Magical."
It truly is.
Thank you Mark for indulging me in this word association.
I LOVE how you changed this.... It is a reflection of your compassionate, beautiful spirit...
Btw... did you like "Yesterday?"
Much love my friend, M
Hi Maithri,
Thank you my sweet friend.
I think we each see the list differently, don't you? It can change in so many ways.
Which Yesterday do you mean?
Tons of love to you my friend.
Alexys,
I must say that I liked Mark's list! It offers us a different perspective (loved the follies being on youtube lol).
"^5 (text symbol for High Five)"
^5...got it now! Thanks! :D
"That makes sense - a lot of sense."
Parents need to find equilibrium when raising their kids...and mainly: remember how they felt when they were teens.
"How can we forget those ""fantastic"" (double quotations) teachers?"
LOL LOL LOL we can't (unfortunately)!
"Excellent. No arguments here. ;D"
*Bowing* thank you ;D!
"God knows. Amen sista! High God five. ^G5! (my symbol for High God Five.)"
^G5!
"Unless we grow our own, we don't have that much of a choice, unless we lobby to get things changed - and the other side lobbies harder to keep them the same."
True. I am lucky enough, because in my neighbourhood, there is a group of Cape Verdeans who has a mini-farm where they biologically grow veggies, and they sell it to us. But if we buy in the supermarket....forget about it!
We should lobby and fight [& bring down] the counter-chemicals food lobby LOL *nodding*...
"With our help. Yes we can."
Yes, we can!
"It is a shame. I saw a documentary where a girl from India was from a poor village and her mother had to sell her into slavery so they could eat - heartbreaking."
Unfortunately that is the reality in many countries...it breaks my heart as well *nodding*.
"I have faith that we WILL get there with great effort."
Amen, girl!!
"Yes, fear does that."
Fear is life's worst enemy!
"Viva la Max Cheers!"
LOL LOL... :D!
OlĂȘ, Alexys Cheers
Max,
"I must say that I liked Mark's list! It offers us a different perspective (loved the follies being on youtube lol)."
Yes, everyone who did their own list offered such a deep insight didn't they? Mark is a wise Soul.
"^5...got it now! Thanks! :D"
^5!
"Parents need to find equilibrium when raising their kids...and mainly: remember how they felt when they were teens."
I am glad I opted out of that job. (I would not have had time for blogging.)
"True. I am lucky enough, because in my neighbourhood, there is a group of Cape Verdeans who has a mini-farm where they biologically grow veggies, and they sell it to us. But if we buy in the supermarket....forget about it!"
That's marvelous. Are there any veggies that are endemic to Portugal? We have a bastardized version of Farmers Market here, but the prices are higher than the supermarket prices. Go figure.
"We should lobby and fight [& bring down] the counter-chemicals food lobby LOL"
Fight. Fight. Fight. I'll do karate and you do kick-boxing. Deal?
"Yes, we can!"
"Oh yes we can can,
yes we can can
why can't we?
If we wanna, yes we can can..." The Pointer Sisters
"Fear is life's worst enemy!"
The enemy needs to be taken down, especially with the karate/kick-boxing team of Alexys & Max - coming to a town near you.
Mortal Combat Cheers.
Lady A,
"Yes, everyone who did their own list offered such a deep insight didn't they? Mark is a wise Soul."
Yes, they did. I am sure he is!
"I am glad I opted out of that job. (I would not have had time for blogging.)"
LOL LOL LOL I hear you! But I can tell you that I am anxious to have that job...
"That's marvelous. Are there any veggies that are endemic to Portugal? We have a bastardized version of Farmers Market here, but the prices are higher than the supermarket prices. Go figure."
To tell you the truth I don't know...I really don't (but I will ask around). There are biological veggies in supermarkets, here, but they charge 3 times more than the "regular" ones...it is scandalous.
"Fight. Fight. Fight. I'll do karate and you do kick-boxing. Deal?"
Fight. Fight. Fight. Deal ^5!
"Oh yes we can can, yes we can can, why can't we? If we wanna, yes we can can..." The Pointer Sisters"
Oh such a great tune!! I must listen to it right now...*Max dancing*! Yes, we can...
"The enemy needs to be taken down, especially with the karate/kick-boxing team of Alexys & Max - coming to a town near you."
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL for shizzle! LOL Aaah, girl, you kill me! What a way to start the year! LOL LOL *nodding*
Martial Arts Cheers.
Hi Max,
"LOL LOL LOL I hear you! But I can tell you that I am anxious to have that job..."
Just consider that WE are your FIRST family. Our needs come FIRST. How can you blog as a mother? That means that you won't have time for us. Perhaps you should considered a surrogate to give birth? Just a thought.
"Fight. Fight. Fight. Deal ^5!"
Cool. ^5!
"Oh such a great tune!! I must listen to it right now..."
One of my favorites.
"*Max dancing*! Yes, we can..."
Joining you...yes we can can.....
"LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL for shizzle! LOL Aaah, girl, you kill me! What a way to start the year! LOL LOL *nodding*"
ROFL. ROFL. ROFL.
Black Belt Cheers!
Hey Lady A!
"Just consider that WE are your FIRST family. Our needs come FIRST. How can you blog as a mother? That means that you won't have time for us. Perhaps you should considered a surrogate to give birth? Just a thought."
LOL girl, I will blog as a mother, I will have time for you...don't worry (I am very good at planning)! LOL LOL no, there won't be no need...you'll see LOL *nodding*!
"One of my favorites."
You have an excellent taste...as we both know ;)!
"Joining you...yes we can can....."
*Alexys & Max boogying*
"ROFL. ROFL. ROFL."
LOL LOL LOL I knew you would crack up LOL...
Tai Chi Cheers
Our communication - should go beyond superficial.
Our business - should be responsible.
Our telephone - should be mono-purpose.
Our youth - should be grateful.
Our religion - should be above rituals.
Our labor - should be fruitful.
Our life - I don't know.
I tried to make my version that each sentence ryhmes but it's so hard to rewrite the whole list - I can only work out a part of it only.
The original list is great, other versions listed are ingenious too.
Hi Kriz,
Thanks for your additional list. I like everyone's interpretation of it.
