A Closed Mouth

The saying goes, “Sticks and stone may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”
That is not exactly true. Words can hurt - especially negative words. They can hurt us for a long time. They tear down our confidence, linger in our soul and close down our heart center.
Many things can cause negativity - unhappiness, anger, resentment, depression, loss, jealousy, envy, fear, any emotional upheaval, etc.
Emotion can be described as energy-in-motion. That energy is looking for a place to go and depending on the emotion we attach to it, it will find it’s mark whether negative or positive.
If we think before we speak, we are less likely to have a negative impact because we have neutralized the negative emotion. When we take responsibility for our actions, we become aware of our words.
By becoming aware of what we think, say and do, we are aligning ourselves with our positive side.
As the saying goes, “A closed mouth gathers no feet.”
Do you think it is easy or difficult to stay positive?

I think ambiance and whom we surround ourselves with dictates how positive with feel.
I personally look for the silver lining in every storm and there usually is one.
When my elderly patients used to complain about old age and all what came with it I'd say,' But you lived long enough to experience it.'
When I'd hear people died 'before their time' I'd say 'God knows what they were spared that they'll never have to exp-like all what comes with old age.' :)
Even misfortune has it's own rewards like showing us who are friends are-like you, Alexys. :)

Every letter, syllable, word and intention holds power. People underestimate that every thought and feeling vibrates energy as well. They do not always foresee the repercussions of their intentions. All of this reminds people how useful it is to raise to self-awareness. Learning to recognize what you do when you do it enables you to tap into unaccessed, inner power to shed light on your own unfolding conditions. Every person has power to shift focus and vibration. Knowing and being conscious in a given moment are not the same. Everybody knows but everybody is at a very personal stage of awareness. That means, many people are unaware of what they do and why.
Good point to emphasize, Alexys.
Thinking before speaking can make such a difference in how the other person receives it.
You can be kind and clear rather than cruel and thoughtless. Or any variation in-between.
Happy Saturday to you !
Uber,
How do you get up to those clouds to look for silver linings? ;D
When people used to ask Mark Twain if he thought the rain would ever stop, he replied, "It always has."
Thanks for those kind words my friend.
Liara,
When people realize that every little thing holds power then maybe we can use them to turn the tide to positive. Nothing gives us a wake up call more than love.
Annie,
It's cool to be kind. It warms the spirit like a thousand candles in the night.
Happy weekend.
