Alexys,
I should have told my father and mother to f*** off 30 years ago, done without the crutch of his money, and become a homicide detective or an architect...
The price I paid for not being able to be (choosing to be) emotionally free of abuse wasn't worth all the joys of the toys.

I've made several big mistakes in other ways - all involving my not keeping my mouth shut/gossiping. My life would have been very different with men if I had been more discreet.
My lack of knowing how to communicate effectively also caused me many problems - as did my lack of self-esteem. I made decisions based on fear and loneliness instead of confidence and healthy boundaries...

I should have moved to northern California 10 years ago instead of staying in southern California - if I'd only known what real estate would do and been smart enough to choose where I wanted to end up spending the rest of my life !

Alexys, you cleverly remind everyone that labels do not define people although it is tempting to associate and identify people by names and memorable characters. IN truth, the subtle nuances lie and the truth is found behind all the smoke and mirrors. Thank you for promtping reflection os what is and what is not. U sly fox!

Hi Annie,

Now that you know what you should have done, what are you going to do?

It is possible for you to still pursue some of your dreams?

Alexys Fairfield 6/18/2009 7:46 AM

Liara,

Even the smoke and mirrors don't reveal all of the truth, it's after the dust has settled and the labels are gone that we see the truth.

It's a refreshing exercise to say the least.

Each human being is slowly awakening frm the illusive dream. Every moment is the next stage of this unfolding existence you choose and change.

Alexys Fairfield 6/19/2009 8:57 AM

Liara,

Some may be waking while others are going to sleep unable to keep their dreams awake.

And so the story of life continues until we awake and stay awake for the marvelous journey.

And when we see such films we think they are perfectly cast.

I married the wrong man because I didn't tell the right man that he was 'the one.'
I have regretted that all my life.

Uber,

Regets are for the birds or shall I say, The Birds by Hitchcock.

Nothing could have been greater miscast than Mel Gibson in Hamlet.
