Where Is God?

Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew all about it.

If any mischief occurred in their town, the two boys were probably involved.

The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys.

The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. So the mother sent the 8 year old first, in the morning and the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon.

The preacher, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Do you know where God is, son?"

The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open.

The preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God?"

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "Where is God?"

The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time,"

"GOD is missing, and they think we did it!"

We live in a society with many highs and lows. Some people even question whether God IS here?

Do you think God is missing? What is your evidence that God does/doesn’t exist?

One perspective is that as you honour and accept other people's sense of truth, and love thyself and others unconditionally, then you align with God energy. As you connect with energies of compassion and gratitude, then you merge with the light. Every human being is an energy being on a path to merge with that inner light.

Ha! Oh my gosh I loved reading that story. (I think I know those boys...!) God is definitely not missing. God, from my experiences, is everywhere. In my eyes, ears, mouth, heart, air I breathe, water I drink, thoughts I think... And I believe that because this life force that flows through me and through everything is intelligent. Not at all random. That's why I'm certain God exists.
I used to like to joke, though, that sometimes my guardian angel was on an extended smoke break! (smile)

Another view is God is shapeshifting inside the self. As you connect with energy, you reconnect with part of you that never left.

Megan,

We all know those boys. LOL. I like that you can feel God everywhere. That's cool. May God continue to fuel your life my friend.

Liara,

Another fresh perspective. Thank you.

It's taken me 2 days of thinking about this to formulate an intelligent (I think!) response. Essentially, I see us and everything in the universe as having been conceived of through God as the ultimate creative force. Therefore, as long as anything exists, God must too.

Great question! Loved it so much I dedicated my last post to it. Thank you for the inspiration.

Felicitas,

An excellent conclusion my friend. The only thing we have to remember is that God IS and we ARE.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
