Karma is definitely cause and effect and as soon as people realize that, the better they can assuage their fears and live a productive life.

I agree that karma has many faces, some from past lives, former incarnations and the like.

What do you think of karma?
--At some point, each human being must give an account of personal stewardship of their lives. Some people feel regret for missed opportunities and others experience overwhelming love as they realize services they have rendered. If you believe success in the physical is measured by the degree of joy you experience, then you realize you are not alive to fix things or accomplish certain things. Karma is often understood as a kind of revenge or punishment scheme. To me, its a cause and effect scale of joy you choose to feel, share, elicit or not from within.

Do you find it hard to understand?
--spirit offer insight into many processes. I evolve to sense opportunities to apply what they teach. My learning is perpetual. Karma has many faces.

Do you think the media has misjudged Sharon Stone?
--From a spiritual perspective, a true appreciation of life in the physical world means you do not judge or criticize anyone; you do not complain; you do not create a sense of lack or other reasons to generate or feed negative energy vibration. I choose instead to believe this moment we're in, what is happening now, is the best life has to offer and feel that fully.

Was her quote taken out of context?
--human beings may misunderstand their role in expanding consciousness. We do not exist to seek approval, but to develop a broader way of sensing and existing. Our purpose differs from what we are conditioned to perceive and feel. Why get angry? Why feel anything but calm? Why listen to someone else's version of "the news?" Every preference or choice is registered on a vibrational level. As you clarify what you like or dislike, agree or disagree, you are calling for energy to manifest itself in higher or lower forms. You can also choose nothing but what raises you up higher.

Was it appropriate?
--If you choose for your existence to be deliberate and full of joy, then you detach from how you used to live. In order to change the situations you attract, you must change the focus of your thoughts. Any choice to dwell on yours or someone else's dissatisfaction is not the way. What is appropriate is to deliberately choose to shift your vantage point, to find something good in everything and everyone and dwell on that. The answer is always grounded in love and compassion.

Was she perpetuating karmic stereotypes? Should she have kept her mouth closed?
--a person always finds precisely what he or she is seeking. You find a reflection of yourself. If dissatisfaction is what you desire, then that is what you will see and experience. Yet, you also have the choice to align with another kind of awareness. This implies stepping back from popular media is doing or suggesting and choosing to figure out what thoughts resonate in you right now. It may defy words, but you know.

You can look at it that way, but perhaps you can also look at it in a singular sense. In other words, I understand the butterfly effect and that is certainly one type of karma, but we have to start with ourselves first. We have to understand how we fit into the life cycle and why the butterfly effect is and isn't a part of us. Another one of those great paradoxes in life.

If you view the butterfly from an outer perspective, you can see certain movements, but if you view it from an inner perspective, you can begin to understand why it's wings have to move precisely within it's existence. We have our role and the butterfly has his role.

One bad apple may spoil most of the bunch, but not all. It depends on when it is spotted. Thanks for your invigorating comments.

Karma is hard to understand when you look at the state of the world and you believe that we are all interconnected; the fluttering of a butterfly's wings can affect climate change on the other side of the planet. You are right when you say that people misunderstand the meaning of karma and what it all encompasses. It can't be revenge because something that is related to Life and Creation could never bear such a negative and petty feeling. No, Karma is a learning and growth tool.
Buddhists urge us (in the Eightfold path) to execute the "Samyak Karmanta", i.e. the right (or complete) action.
And this action along with to Samyak Drishti (right belief), Samyak Smrti (right thought), Samyak Vak (right speech), Samyak Ajiva (right livelihood), Samyak Vyayama (right effort), Samyak Sankalpa (right resolve) and Samyak Samadhi (right meditation) will offer a way out of suffering, thus one's karma (since the lesson is learned, and you will cease the cycle of rebirth, thus attaining the Paranirvana).

You have transmitted a very important message here: "Karma is not something that happens to you, it's something that you create." yes! Accountability is the word to be taught to people. We must all be conscious of the fact that we should not blame others for our bad choices, we should blame ourselves. Us alone, are responsible for what occurs in our life.

I wonder how much Karma would change if there was not such a thing as being quoted "out of context"..I think a lot of Karma gets lost because what we say is sometimes manipulated.. usually with an agenda in mind...there are times when I wonder who is reading my Karma and whose Karma am I reading..sometimes it comes disguised..

When I am accountable for my actions and honest with myself, karma makes perfect sense.

The media definitely misjudged her, and unfairly took her comment out of context.

HOWEVER, she is not new to the game, and should have known that sound bites are those that are most inflammatory.
